In week 37 the assembly of the systems for the injection of pulsating and continuous momentum (IPM and ICM) at the Vattenfall Research and Development Center in Älvkarleby began.
The IPM and ICM systems were designed by LTU and FDB, respectively, as solutions to mitigate specific problems encountering in draft tubes during off-load operations. The two systems are based on injecting momentum into the draft tube of the turbine model.
During the visit, personnel from LTU, FDB, and Vattenfall joined forces to install the two systems and ensure their operationality.
The installation is on schedule with the first tests beginning in week 39.
