On July 21st – 22nd 2020, Dr Ignazio Floris from ITEAM (Universitat Politecnica de Valencia) visited UPC to show the Fiber Bragg Grating technology. The visit included a brief presentation on potential applications for this technology when applied to monitoring engineering structures and some demonstrations of the capability of these sensors in dynamic tests for hydro applications developed in the hydraulic laboratory of UPC. The technology proved itself extremely promising and UPC is willing to apply it during one of the future AFC4hydro test campaigns.
